BCREA's new branding

The British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA) is one of our first clients - our work with them dates back to 2002, including the production of their first website. They are a professional association for over 23,000 Realtors in BC, providing professional development opportunities, advocacy, economic research and standard forms to the members they support.

There was confusion reported from stakeholders regarding what BCREA was about and their role in the industry. This, combined with an aging non-responsive website, and an upcoming move to a new location, they felt it was time reassess their positioning in the industry with a new communication strategy while refreshing their look and brand guidelines.

BCREA's previous brand featured a strong, professional logo, however it felt dated, cold and a bit bureaucratic.

The new logo we designed (below) features four peaks, symbolizing the four main property sectors, while upward-pointing arrows imply a collective and cooperative push toward improvement and excellence. The lower element that frames the peaks can be interpreted as a speech bubble or an open single quote, symbolizing BCREA's role as the voice of BC Realtors and their importance in starting, facilitating and contributing to important conversations in the industry.

The brand work continued into a new set of elaborate brand guidelines, covering everything from proper logo usage, typography, colours, graphs, photography and copywriting tone.
